Description

Gummay Woreda Estates is a small village town that situates at the Region of Djimma/Limu, this village has been growing coffees for generations. At about 5 years ago, Gummay Woreda Estate begins an upgrade in coffee farming activity, and the main accomplishment is to alternate the different heirloom varieties every year, and the estate finally began to harvest the first batch of geisha coffee green beans.


Normally speaking, the geisha variety takes 4-6 years to reach a more complete tasting profile. However, due to the natural high altitude and sufficient rainfall in the area's micro-climate, coffee hunters found an unforgettable fine taste of ripe lemon and mango fragrance together with floral fragrance notwithstanding the coffee farming is upgraded for just 3-4 years to reach good maturation. As a consequence, the coffee hunters conducted the direct trading with Gummay Woreda Estate. Due to the relatively low in yield of the batch, and also because the coffee trees are relatively "baby" in age and shape, these produce was given the cute naming of "Baby Geisha".


Other than the advantage of the geisha variety and the climate, one has to mention the plan titled "Sugar Lemon", which emphasizes the strict control of fermentation time and post production water quality, and as a consequent the coffee displays lemon sugar fragrance and sweetness that symbolises the finest quality as indicated by the packaging of the coffee green beans
